Here’s what I’m talking about
There were certainly several that were thrown down the field, but their bread and butter was the mesh play with the WR running a bubble screen to keep the DB towards the boundary.
BTW, the second play in that video is an excellent example of what you are talking about. Half the OL was 10 yards down the field.

Yep, it was. They just also played with the knowledge that if the play dragged the odds we're high it wouldn't matter if the OL was downfield.
And they definitely kept it in their pocket for shot plays.

Ok UTP, once we got past calling out past gumps for hating stuff then adopting it things turned out ok.
