I do not think a read option offense is gimmicky.
I do think the way Gus ran RPOs with down the line passes knowing referees would not call linemen down field was gimmicky. Extremely gimmicky. And it's a gimmick he can't get away with anymore.
Same with the hurry up solely to prevent substitutions.

Why can he not get away with down the line passes? He should be good as long as the pass is caught behind the LOS, no?
