Um, the Auburn offense of 2010 and 2013 that forced teams to account for the QB run on every mesh play? The one you said we now are?

So, is this why Auburn was a gimmick offense? Because they ran the read option? Or was it the HUNH? I’m just trying to get this straight. You’ve been all over the board on this.

ETA: posted before you edit. I see you do not subscribe to the common belief amongst Bama fans that a read option offense is gimmicky.

Which, I argued then and now, was the definition of power football. Which is why I always rejected the notion that Gus' offense was finesse and gimmicky.

Yes, I am 100% suggesting that. The critique was that Auburn's offense was entirely based on stopping other teams from subbing via tempo.

I always rejected that notion as Gus' original offense was as power based as any other. It was the wishbone out of the shotgun at hyper speed. However, our current offense has zero similarities to that outside of lining up in the shotgun.

I don't understand why people think acting idiot is somehow fun or funny.

I do not think a read option offense is gimmicky.

I do think the way Gus ran RPOs with down the line passes knowing referees would not call linemen down field was gimmicky. Extremely gimmicky. And it's a gimmick he can't get away with anymore.

Same with the hurry up solely to prevent substitutions.
