His struggles appear due to inconsistencies at WR (a lot of dropped passes) and poor play calling (we used a lot more RPOs last season) mixed with Fromm trying to go through more progressions than he did last season (a sign of maturity). He’s not as quick to throw the ball away, which you might call a regression, but he’s actually becoming a more mature QB otherwise.
I, too, want to see what Fields can do throwing the ball around more. I want to see if he can manage the offense, get us in the right positions, read what the defenses are doing, and protect the ball. He hasn’t had many opportunities this season to show that. I’m fine with people wanting to see more, but those saying he’s a better QB than Fromm right now given his lack of experience are simply being irrational.
