It is merely assumed that Fields is a god-man that we are holding back.

That is not my assumption. My point of view is that UGA needs an offensive identity and better QB play to get where we want to go. I don't see progression from Jake Fromm that I think is likely to get UGA there and think a move to option B might have that long term upside with at least similar results in the short-term.

Perhaps not, but it seems to be the assumption of many here considering they think he’s better than Fromm even though he hasn’t shown that he is. It’s just assumed that he can’t be worse.

Prior to yesterday, Fromm has been playing statistically better than he did last year where he helped us get to the national championship game.

His struggles appear due to inconsistencies at WR (a lot of dropped passes) and poor play calling (we used a lot more RPOs last season) mixed with Fromm trying to go through more progressions than he did last season (a sign of maturity). He’s not as quick to throw the ball away, which you might call a regression, but he’s actually becoming a more mature QB otherwise.

I, too, want to see what Fields can do throwing the ball around more. I want to see if he can manage the offense, get us in the right positions, read what the defenses are doing, and protect the ball. He hasn’t had many opportunities this season to show that. I’m fine with people wanting to see more, but those saying he’s a better QB than Fromm right now given his lack of experience are simply being irrational.
