I don't know why people would be against someone like Bill Clark. Was Saban a household name when LSU hired him? Has been coaches like Stoops are a joke. Reminds me of USCe hiring Holtz, then Spurrier. Did either one of these "established" coaches win anything there?
You can get Bill Clark fairly inexpensive. He's a proven winner everywhere he's been. I don't know of a more impressive job that what he's done at UAB, who was essentially given the death penalty a couple of years ago.

quote:To be fair, nobody has ever won anything there. Spurrier gave them their only SEC East title so I’d say he surpassed expectation.

I agree with your point, but using Carolina as the example isn’t the way to go

Because he has very little D1 college experiance. Did Gus not teach you a lesson?

I think you guys are out of your mind if you think a coach like Bill Clark would take a job at Auburn if Gus gets canned a year after signing a 7 year deal.
Clark didn’t coach for 2 whole years in order to coach again at UAB. He’s not leaving that program where he’s at right now to walk into this shitshow for a fraction of what we paid Gus. If he wants a P5 job he’ll wait
You guys need to let that sink in
