Cristobal also lost to Oregon state if it makes you feel any better.

Yeah, and Saban lost to Western Kentucky. Remember how in year one that game confirmed to all of us that he was overrated and that Bama was going to continue being a joke? He also lost to Gus - multiple times. Urban Meyer lost to Tuberville.

Every single coach on the planet has lost games that they shouldn't have lost - to inferior teams. The idea is to land a coach that has a 10 year vision of what the program is going to look like and a plan for how to get there and maintain it. You're never going to find a coach that wins every game they should win.

And I love how a 3-point loss on the road in a RIVALRY game is supposed to be some sort of "smoking gun" that these idiots laugh about as if they're making some sort of hot take. Strange things happen on the road in rivalry games - kinda like how Bama walked into our stadium as the favorite last season and lost with a much better team. Shaun Shivers even ran a guy over.

Mario Cristobal has lost 7 games now at Oregon since being the full-time head coach. One thing to note is that apart from the 2018 loss to Arizona, every one of those losses was by one possession. That marker is typically what signifies a good coach - its not NEVER losing, its having your team in position to win every single game.
