I love hearing this from a head coach.
"He put in the hours and made the gameplan watching the film, I'm just there if he needs me."
This is why Muschamp has never been successful as a Head Coach. It's one of the great things about an HC who knows what he's doing, and it's not right for a defensive specialist to have his grubby little fingers in the offensive gameplan or vice versa.
I'm impressed with Mullen so far in many facets, but this one is easily my favorite.

Agree. Let's the guy he hired do his damn job. Love it
I know Todd gets shite from Georgia fans..but I love how aggressive he has been. Considering we lack so much in the srcondary and had a soft team..he's done a damn good job so far

If Muschamp did that he would still be our head coach. He could learn from Dan .

At first we had real problems getting to Fitz and their OL kept him fairly clean...but our stable of DL paid off in the second half. Once we stopped the run MSU was doomed.
Slaton Campbell, Conliffe, Shuler, Dunlap & even Clark can wear down OLs. Zuniga and Polite just refused to be blocked and make life miserable for QBs. They didn't get much rest either but in the late 3rd and 4th qt...they were like hungry Gators smelling blood.
Kudos should also go out to the special teams play. A key punt return by Swain when MSU cover guys thought he was fair catching the ball got us out to the 20 yd line when otherwise we would have been backed up at the 10 yd line. MSU partially loss this game because their punter was bad and kept giving us a short field.Townsend backed them up a few times.

Every DC gets shite from every fanbase. Football has changed infinitely in favor of the offense over the years, and law of averages says you are going to give up a 3rd down conversion between 40-60% of the time in any given game.
In the 21st Century, you simply cannot ask a defense to win the game for you. If they keep you within a score, they did their job. Shutting a team down like we did the last 2 weeks is going above and beyond.

I agree. I have zero complaints about Todd. He has done an outstanding job despite lacking in some areas. He hides our flaws well.

Shannon had no creativity at all last year, which was crazy because he blitzed the shite out of Iowa in the Bowl game last January.
Maybe he gave up on McElwain like the rest of the team did.
