I lean no, but I’m a Micah Wilson honk.
What does everyone else think?

It wouldn’t hurt. Powell, Wilson and a grad transfer in competition would be good for the team.

Always over recruit.
So absolutely yes.

I’m not sure those guys stuck around if you bring in a grad transfer

Unless Mizzou brings in the guy from Clemson, I doubt they transfer out. Unless they lose to QB competition in the spring.

Then they're not as good. always bring in top talent. always. Im not worried about scaring off players, better players -> better teams -> better recruiting

Only if the coaching staff believes in our backups and think they need one more year to develop. If they do not believe in our backups use that as a selling point to go get a great QB recruit or whomever will be transferring that has 2 or more years left.

No. First year with a new QB will likely have bumps in the road. I'd rather have that bump followed by 2 or 3 years up an upward trend than having to endure another bump in the road the following year.

Yeah, I’m not sure I want a guy at QB for one year unless he’s just an absolute stud. I’d rather roll with the guys that already have time in the system if we are talking about a guy who is merely good.

You could lose Bazelak if you bring in a grad transfer.
One must always think with a mental hall of mirriors, seeing all the angles at once.
Unless some crazy fortune falls in your lap you don’t disrupt the flow.

We might lose Bazelak anyway, but yeah...these grad transfers currently on the market don’t interest me

I’ve never heard of a to be freshman QB bouncing because a school took a grad transfer.
If a grad transfer QB gives Mizzou the best chance at staying in the 6-8 win range then Mizzou should recruit that QB. I would bet most saying build with a young QB would also be calling for the coaches to be fired if that young QB led Mizzou to fewer than 6 wins.

I just don’t know, and kind of doubt, if any of these grad transfers likely to be available are any better than what we have and if they aren’t significantly better Id rather stay in house with the guys who have paid their dues here with blood, sweat and tears.
Grad transfers have not been very kind to us anyway...
Ross-Bust
Black-maybe not a bust but minimal contributor
Ofodile-Bust
Oliver-starter, but maybe by default
They seem to be a lot more impactful in basketball than football

Grad transfer QB really haven’t been good period in college football. Most are transferring because they couldn’t get playing time at their previous school. There’s not a lot would be obvious upgrades. Mizzou has to at least check in with those that are upgrades to gage interest.
In basketball has grad transfers like Kash that were really good at lower levels moving up to face better competition. Other than the QB the went from E Washington to Oregon a few years ago I can’t think of many like that in football.

Is there rumors of Bazelak looking elsewhere?
Guy seems like a solid commit.

Bazelak wouldn’t decommit because of a grad transfer. If we got Jalen Hurts who may have to sit a year to play 2(i’m not sure how all this redshirtting business works now), then sure. And no, Jalen Hurts is not coming here.
There are some weak rumors that he may already be thinking about decomitting or Mizzou could be unimpressed with his senior season. Who knows?
Definitely take a grad transfer. Lindsey Scott, having already moved around a lot, may decide on a different position rather than transfer again into oblivion. Then we might lose one of Lowary, Wilson, or Powell. Probably already close to happening.
3 star transfers from schools like Mizzou, never amount to anything. Transfers from florida (Will Grier), bama (Hurts), and clemson were high 4 or 5 stars before they got there. And they got beat by another high 4 or 5 star.

Hurts wouldn’t have to sit, but he sucks anyway
Posted on 9/27/18 at 9:12 am to JesusQuintana
strongly disagree. Id rather have him one year than anyone of our young qbs for a few.
Posted on 9/27/18 at 9:29 am to mizslu314
Fair enough, but he can’t throw.

Depends on the transfer
If they can sign an elite transfer than yes. If it just a hopeful than no
A transfer like Will Grier or Russel Wilson could be an example of a elite transfer. At the time of Grier transferring very few thought he would be as dominant of a QB at WV. I’m sure UF would love to have him back
