I just went over the roster one by one and Im stunned by what I see. We will only lose six seniors who I feel are contributors on the team and a few of them wont be missed. Not counting Chauncey who really needs another year to get a better draft rating possibility.
Our roster is LOADED next year folks.

Agreed. Year two we see what Mullen is made of here. It takes a year as most have shown from Meyer to Saban to recently Smart.
So high hopes for year two.

Roster is loaded?
LMFAO
I mean, if you mean it has a lot of people on it, I guess so. Are they any good? Remains to be seen.

In reel's defense, I trust Mullen's capacity to coach up our team in a year over about 95% of the country's coaches. I know this team will improve, it's already improved mentally this year (as in they seem to be playing assignment football) and with special teams.
But we'll be alright when Jalen Hurts transfers to Florida. /S

It's so loaded that we will have multiple sets of duplicate numbers, one of my pet peeves.
You dress out less than 100 players, what 80 at home and 65 on the road? Give everybody their own number.

Well Matt, The SEC mandates certain numbers for certain positions. It used to be different years ago...no single digit numbers for DL, WRs & TEs were all 80s. RBs 20-39 and OL were 50-79 ditto for DL.
Regardless of Slayer dismissing guys if they aren't 5 star recruits, we will have a loaded and experienced team next year. Slayer would prefer someone like * 5 star DL Christmas on the girls school team. I don't give a crap if we had mostly 3 *s, if they are coached up and get enough snaps and want to play hard. A lot of them out play those damn prima donnas who feel entitled.

?
The only current rules are that O-linemen have to have numbers between 50 and 79 unless reported to officials before the start of the play. Everyone else can be any number they want, except receivers and backs, who can't have the numbers between 50 and 79, unless reported to officials before the play. So give everyone their own number, no duplicates are needed.

3 stars outplaying 5 stars? How about outplaying other 3 Stars first, like idk, Kentucky, before dreaming of out playing 5 stars.

You do get that terrible senior class off of the roster for next year. That alone should help you guys out.
I'm just talking about the blue chip ratio and I believe it was only 24%.

Blue chip ratio jumps back to a more Florida like level next year as long as recruiting closes as expected.

For all of Macs faults....he did sign some pretty good talent. Experience and work ethic trumps 5 stars Slayer, even though you don't believe it. We now have a HC and DC who are teaching our kids how to play sound football in their system. It doesn't happen overnight....but don't be surprised if you get surprised. Take off those dark glasses man. The sun feels good.

It’s a myth. Work ethic is important but talent and work ethic trumps just work ethic. You think uf is the only team working hard?

You are 100% right. The saying goes hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

It's like what Tebow and Marcus Spears were talking about the other day, this team HAS talented players..but it's not a good team. The players need to buy into what Coach Mullen is selling 100%, and right now, that isn't happening.
Franks is consistently looking for the TD pass instead of checking down to a safer play (which doesn't look as good). Too many others are too worried about themselves, and are not willing to put the team first (e.g. Lemons).
If these guys can learn to play as a cohesive unit, we can be dangerous THIS season...but it will take a lot of work from everyone in the program.
just my 2 bits

We are in the "me first" society now.

The team IS talented, but there are so many things on defense that factor into having some difficulty. The DBs are thin and the LBs clearly haven't been taught disciplined football untl this year.
However, they look lightyears ahead of themselves from last year. From top to bottom. They get beat, but the team is clearly adjusting and getting in their groove. Holding CSU to 77 yards on the ground (even if the other team rushed 42 times against us) is at least impressive.

It's the only thing I harp on: Franks has to take the motherfricking checkdown. In the Kentucky game, he threw it directly into coverage five total times (as in defensive players had their hands wrapped around the ball) and had several tips that very easily could have turned into interceptions -- all but one (out of 6) intermediate "hero" passes.
Worst of all, against FBS opponents he's:
175 yards (average)
4 - 2, 3 (Touchdowns to INTs/Fumbles)
47% completion rate
Franks making a beautiful checkdown to Grimes for 17 yards.
^ If he literally learns to do that, our offense will likely be very difficult to stop and help the defense out a lot.

We will be much better later on in the season once the staff knows what they have and what they don't have.

Which is my big issue with Lemons. He damn well knew we are hurting for DBs. A "Team Player" would have talked to the staff about switching to Defense, like Massey did. Lemons is 6' 200 lb, and easily could have taken snaps as a safety.
