There'll be all kinds of responses, but the reality is a lot of Bama and AU fans don't have a problem rooting for their in-state rival against other opponents.
It's pretty common for immediate and extended families to have both AU and UA alums and/or fans. I'm a UA alum, but my two sons went to smaller colleges in Alabama. One of them is a UA fan 1st, but pulls for AU too. My other son married an AU grad, so he's more of an AU fan 1st, but roots for UA too.
