Looks like Micah Wilson has the inside track for the backup job again. I'm very on board with that. Love his ability and Id hate to see him transfer.

Oliver getting reps and developing communication with the #1s is big.

Injuries aside, having a veteran presence to QB the backend will cut down on the communication errors contributed to the spike in long passing plays allowed the last two years.

Seems most of the long passing plays last season were early in the season before Sherrills and Prewett established themselves as the top safteys.

Florida, Vanderbilt and Arkansas all averaged over 12 yds per completed pass. Tennessee and Texas were the only opponents to average less than 10. It certainly got better when they dumped Read 2 and went back to a traditional 2 deep look, but there where still several chunk plays allowed.

According to Matter Turner seems to have locked down a starting spot. Williams and Anderson are still battling for the other DE position.

Oliver also has his spot at safety secure. Hilton is battling with sophomores for the other spot.

I liked what Turner did last year. He put on 25 lbs of mass before getting to campus and while very raw technically, he had good body lean and a solid first step. I'm interested to see what side they end up playing him on. The chart makes it look like he is going to be at RDE.
