Manziel just might be the greatest adlibber in college football history. From what I understand, he didn't really know the playbook while he was at Texas A&M and overcame that deficiency through raw athletic talent. The achilles' heel of a Nick Saban defense is improvisation by the QB. Manziel was nothing but improvisation.

Some of the greatest QBs in history of CFB never beat Nick Saban twice in a row. JFF. Deshaun Watson. Tim Tebow.

I don't think Sumlin, McKinney, Spavital or Mazzone knew the playbook either.
