Foley gets criticized all the time, he still does. The guy is a legend in the AD business, but he definitely made his share of mistakes. I personally think Mac was his biggest and is partially the reason Foley’s exit wasn’t as ceremonious as one might expect given his history at Florida.

Foley was a great AD but made a couple of what turned out to be terrible hires. McElwain, Muschump and you could throw in Zook for a close 3rd. All 3 were up and coming coaches that if they had worked out would have been at UF for years. Now they just battle for the title "worst coach in Gator history".

But, for the record none were the worse SEC hire in recent history unless we are not considering Tennessee hires.
