It's very strange to me. It's quite obvious we are one of SC's 2 biggest rivals and have been for some time. The game dates back to the 1890s and we played many times prior to them joining the league, and I THINK they have played us more than any other team not named clemson.
I think most people would agree their rivalries go clemson far and away #1 followed by UGA. It's not like it's an insult to them or we're trying to "get them" somehow by claiming that.
IMO, the real issue behind this little thing is that they clearly are no better than 4th on our pecking order (and again, that's not a slight to them either in any way, it's jsut that tech/auburn/florida are guaranteed ahead of them) and they somehow feel slighted that we're so higher up on their pecking order.
