Frank Agbasimere, Akial Byers, Justin Smith

Agbasimere and Smith battled some injuries last year if I remember. Byers was a freshman and hadn’t played much ball in high school.

If I remember, Byers was a 4* and Agbasimere was highly touted. Smith is a 6’7 WR.

Anyone think the fill the Nimber 2 spot anywhere, or contribute this year.

We’re kinda thin at DE, and Byers fits the mold, and Agbasimere is nicknamed smash for a reason. Not sure if Smith just isn’t impressing or if the injuries are all that’s holding him back.

Just wondering if anyone knows since I haven’t really heard anything about them since they were recruited

Oh, and how do you see Antar Thompson playing into the mix?

I think I read somewhere that there’s talk of running 4 DT on the line. Thoughts?

Would love for Smith to have a breakout yr at WR. Also rooting for Brown. Kid has had some tough injury breaks, but has talent and seems to keep working hard.

They are all kind of fringe two deep guys. Byers will definitely be in the DT mix but we are just super deep here. I see Elliot and Beckner starting with Whiteside being next up.

We are kind of thin at DE so we really need Agbasimere to take some snaps. Hopefully he can break out. His athleticism is off the charts.

Maybe Smith is a better fit in Dooley's scheme. I don't think he was fast enough to play in Heupel's system.

We'll see I guess......I would have put him in when we're inside the 10 yd line and make it a jump ball. I can't imagine him every losing any.

Smith and Agbasimere were flyers taken to get a foothold in new areas. They become fixtures on the two deep, you have an easy success story to sell. At worst they graduate and you prove to HS coaches that you will take care of their players.
