They can't do that, and its not what happened. It would also be highly illegal (see: John Coppolella and his lifetime ban for gaming the system albeit in a different but similar market). Mize simply signed for the most money his leverage dictated, because turning down that offer would be absolutely retarded on about a hundred different levels.
