3* DE Jalil Clemons Committed to Tennessee

I have learned that Pruitt knows how to find hidden gems as well as anyone. When he offers a kid, multiple power 5 offers usually follow. Not the case here, I have a hard time understanding why he has a committable offer at this point. Has a composite score of 86, and a 247 score of 88, which means he either didn't attend a rivals camp or he did and Rivals doesn't think he's good.
He doesn't have an offer from Ole Miss or MSU and he's from fricking Starkville. Does he have some 5* teammates or something?
This is the first legitimate head scratcher for me from this staff.

Normally I would trust coaches like Saban, Smart and Pruitt without question but this one is a head scratcher. Coaches seem to out smart themselves with kids like this from time to time, sometimes trying to see stuff that just isn't there sometimes.

He would be a target for both schools any other year. There are probably 6-7 other true DL who are more developed this year. Jalil has a ton of upside depending on what position a staff projects him at.

frick that, we don't need projects with potential. We need goons. If he can't get an offer from your hometown school, you shouldn't get one from us. Especially in the summer.

He’s one of those guys that’ll end up at Southern Miss or Memphis and tear it up and get a look in the draft. There’s one or two of those guys every year in state.

This is odd Tennessee. I had no clue Starkville had any D1 players other than the LB committed to LSU

He’s likely to be dropped by LSU. Showed up at their camp overweight and ran a 5.0 40 apparently.
