We quit pursuing him. How did compliance clear him for eligibility? His grades were the issue with us.

Read on our board where he was headed to Benedict ... and didn't comment because of the rumors about UT all morning.
Will not expound on how, somehow, UT got him qualified but good for Thompson. Wish him well and hope he kicks arse in all of them except against SC.

Think about it. He attended multiple high schools in his career, and the only signable offer he had on signing day was Marshall. There was obviously something wrong and he is a risky take.

That is what I think too. Nothing against Pruitt, but Thompson is the kind of recruit a first year head coach has to take a chance on to get the program going.

Convenient that this is the first time it's been mentioned, the day it's announced he's enrolled at Tennessee. If he enrolled at Arizona or Marshall, I suspect "grade issues" would be the agreed upon reason for him not being at South Carolina.

Not just coming out today, its been known he had off field and academic issues long before signing day...it is what it is and he is a hell of a player and a great get for the Vols. We filled his spot in the class with a grad transfer so its not like we are mad that the Vols "stole him from us", just passing aling the info we have had for a while now.
