In fact, Tagovailoa was better during the season than Jalen Hurts and Jarrett Stidham.

Only 2 interceptions, and threw a td pass every 7 attempts. 175 qb rating. LINK

Hurts threw a td about every 15 attempts. 150.2 qb rating. LINK

Stidham threw a td about every 20.5 attempts. Qb rating of 151. LINK
I love how Bama fans like to spin stats to make them look better than what they are.

Hurts only threw 1 INT per 254 Attempts (1 a season) and 1 INT to 17 TDs.

Tua threw 1 INT per 33 Attempts (1 in 24 when Bama wasn't up by atleast 15) (about a game worth of attempts) and 1 to 6 TDs (1 to 3 when Bama wasn't up by 15+).

Stidham threw 1 INT per 63 Attempts (about 1 in 2 games) and 1 to 3 TDs.

Tua had 11 TDs. 5 of which came against Mercer and Vanderbilt in garbage time. Only 8 of Tua Attempts came before halftime before teams quit and against 1st string) all year and he didn't play a snap against a ranked team besides UGA. When Bama was down by more than a score Tua QB rating dropped to 96.16. 8 of his 11 TDs came when Bama was up by 15+ points.

So when it comes game time against ranked teams (or not Mercer and Vandy) that Bama isn't up by 15 points somehow, playing against 1st string, and he is throwing INTs 1 or 2 times a game (and taking big sacks), then we will see how fast Bama fans start calling for Hurts or Bama's offense collapses. There's more to being a good QB than garbage time stats and hitting 1 wide open WR (no matter the game or its meaning).

I think it’s a little early to anoint Tua just yet, but he was very impressive in the natty.

However, the Jeremy Johnson comparisons are laughable. JJ is/was a complete pussy who was terrified of contact and totally refused to put his body on the line for the program to gain a single yard. He embarrassed himself, our coaches, and our entire university.

Tua is nothing like Johnson.
