Totally true, but that just makes it even more impressive. He didn’t give a shite about practice, not even sure he worked out, was high his entire career and was STILL the best player on the field more often than not.

when you quarterback a team to a losing record, you're not the best player on the field
when you quarterback an immensely talented team to a crappy Liberty Bowl, you're not the best player on the field
when your passing progression needle never moves one inch forward from your freshman year all the way to your senior year, what you are is an embarrassment
Other Arkansas QB's were not very talented, but the progression knowledge showed, so Matt Jones people blaming Nutt doesn't fly
