I agree that Fisher and Dabo belong on the second tier. And if Fisher cannot wake A&M from sleeping giant status, it just isn't going to happen short of another Meyer or Saban coming along.
Kirby and Riley show promise, but should rate an incomplete at this point in time. Neither has a championship, and took over at some very powerful institutions in the CFB "caste" system.
Gus probably doesn't rate as high as he should because he's so weird, and not really respected by his peers. But he is a good coach

Honest question. How can Texas A&M be a sleeping giant when they've never, in their history, been a giant of college football?
ETA: Three top 5 AP Poll finishes all time.
Compared to
Top-5 Finishes in AP Poll
30 .. Oklahoma
25 .. Ohio State
23 .. Notre Dame
23 .. Alabama
20 .. Texas
18 .. USC
17 .. Florida State
15 .. Michigan
14 .. Penn State
13 .. Nebraska
13 .. Tennessee
If there are any sleeping giants of college football they should come from that list. I see five that could qualify there.
