They did it to all races, but of course, they will only focus on the black people.

Well... that usher is done. You don't mess with fricks. fricks messes with you.

He's going to be done just as a matter of principle, but I just don't agree with it because I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with racism.

I was up at UF this weekend for a graduation. I agree that the usher should have handled it better but they're going to have to address graduation decorum. There were a few times a student would do something on screen to get the crowd going. That by itself I don't have issue with, but then when your actions make it so the next person's name isn't audible you've now stolen someone else's moment.

I have 2 things to say about this
1) If they don't move the grads on at a regular pace, the graduation would last all day and most of the night. It's already too long.
2) The person calling the names doesn't stop for show boaters so you do miss hearing the next graduates name, which isn't right. That is why they ask you not applaud or yell as the names are called.
If one group seems to be getting more attention that others, it could be because they deserve it due to maybe not following the rules

I don't know if it's a race issue, but you shouldn't be touching people.
They are a graduation marshal, not a swat team member.

I understand it from both perspectives -- one of an old guard trying to keep a certain air of reverence, and of course the new guard who wants to have fun and doesn't want to be touched.
All I know is that it isn't racism.
