As time passes on, I am believing more and more in this point of view. Television for almost all teams is at an all time high. You can find a game for just about any significant team in the country these days. Saturdays are saturated with college football. (Good times to be alive!)

I don't think it is a huge deal to see kids go to schools across the country anymore. Parents can watch their kids on TV and/or fly to see them play. Add in that if their kid is a top athlete parents are willing to send their kid to the school that best prepares their kid to play in the NFL.

The exposure that gave Notre Dame, Texas, Alabama, USC Michigan and Ohio State such a huge advantage in the past is still important, but it has been diminished.
