Real truth is Georgia has seriously under achieved for years.

Nobody has argued that point. My argument would be thta there are other programs that have underachieved, too. Greatly underachieved. UGA is not an anomaly from that perspective.

Hard truths: * Georgia has more big time athletes coming out of H.S. football than any state in the union. *
You missed on your very first "Hard truth." Florida, Texas and California all have more.

* Georgia has one of the top three or four recruiting staffs in CFB,
This is a recent thing, and we have clearly taken advantage of it.

There is zero serious in state competition for players and there may have been a player leave the state last year that UGA was hot for but I can't name him.
JJ peterson, Trevor Lawrence, Josh vann, Kyler McMiichael, Jaren Williams, Matthew Hill, Justin Mascoll, Robert Cooper, Derrick Allen, Zacoby McLaine, Emory Jones and Smoke Monday were all Top 20 prospects in the state of Georgia that left the state. Granted, We were not interested in some of those guys, but a couple we went after and missed on. We just replaced them with players that were as good or better as a whole.

We did sign 7 of the top 10 prospects in the state, though, so we are doing a much better job of keeping top homegrown talent at home. (Lawrence, Peterson and Vann were the ones we missed on, and recruited all of them to varying degrees)

For instance the QB who went to CU was passed over to recruit/sign Fields.
Not really. We recruited others hard, but we did recruit Lawrence hard until he committed to Clemson. We then turned our attention to focus more on Fields.
quote:

But I can't name one that UGA singled out and said Ok, this is the one at that position.
At one time it was Lawrence and then we also went after Vann very hard.
