Georgia has the athlete population and little competition in state. A unique situation. So in the real, modern world that is easily the best job in America.

Not so fast. In the world of college football in which so many games are on TV, and such widespread media coverage, internet, ability for coaches to fly to see athletes, athletes are now familiar with pretty much all schools. The days of programs being isolated are gone.

At one time you rarely saw Ohio State or Michigan come down to Georgia and steal a top rated recruit. We now live in an era where if there is a great recruit, everybody is recruiting him. We pulled a top QB from Washington state, and Michigan has pulled several top recruits from the south. Florida is recruited by every major school out there as is Georgia.

Does it give a home state an advantage? probably. but nor when you are surrounded by Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Florida and Clemson.
