absolutely sucked
if you have not seen it, don't waste your money
it's not even worth $1 at redbox in a few months
hands down the worst super hero movie I have ever seen, hands down
and I was really surprised because Marvel had done a decent job up till now
to be fair, my 10 year old boy liked it

What in particular didn't you like about it? I was thinking about seeing it but Marvel movies are really hit or miss for me.

so - to give you an idea, my 2 favorite super hero movies, or the best ones I have seen, were Doctor Strange & Wonder Woman
and those are not even close to my favorite super hero characters
to answer your question though, my biggest issue was (SPOILER ALERT)
biggest issue was when they sent a veritable army to fight and potentially die in battle so that a scientist/doctor could work to save the life of 1 guy who is not even really human
also, Dr Strange does something towards the end that is grossly out of character for him and for any super hero for that matter - like a big WTF type decision
there is other small stuff, but those were the biggest 2 - that answers your question (kind of) without too much of a spoiler I hope
also - it kind of pisses me off that this was a 2.5 hour movie that essentially sets up a sequel
no problem with sequels and spin offs on these types of movies, but a 2.5 hour movie ought to have some kind of resolution at the end

hmmm yea the lack of resolution would aggravate me to no end. I guess I'll just hold out a few weeks until the new Star Wars comes out.

Damn, that’s disappointing to hear. My 9 year old boy is into superheroes like no ones business, especially the avengers. How long is this movie so I can prepare to be disappointed
Edit* just 2.5 hrs, frick my life

So
My 10 year old just stormed down the stairs (12.30 at night) to tell me "Dad, I think I know why Dr Strange did that weird thing!"
And damn, the kid is 100% correct
I can't explain without a pretty big spoiler though
Still does not account for sending soldiers to die to protect a damn half robot, but it helps
And the actual action scenes are well done and fun to watch, plus Spiderman gets a bad arse new suit
Won't be the worst 2.5 hours of your life, and the sequel will come out in 2 or 3 years, so something to look forward to

Fair enough, I appreciate your honest review.
Did you and your kiddo see Justice League as well? My son also loves Justice League super heroes and I thought that movie was terrible. At the end of the day, he loved it, so that’s what counts.

Yep, my son is happy, so money well spent
Justice League was Way better than this Avengers movie, by a country mile
The other Avengers movies were also way better
We will be seeing the Ant Man, Aquaman, Venom and Shazam movies as well
But frick Captain Marvel, cuz errybody knows that is really Shazam's name...

Haha.. We will also be seeing all of the superhero movies that come out. I thought Justice League was a snoozer but I was a bit hungover after my buddies wedding. All in all it’s all about the kids anyways. Hell, my grandpa whom is a hunting and fishing outdoorsman took me and my little brother to the movies many years ago in hopes of seeing Tombstone and we made him watch Wayne’s World 2. He was asleep before the previews ended and looking back we regret that shite.

The sequel comes out next year.
And they said well before Infinity Wars came out that it was going to be a 2 parter.

SPOILERS
This is all that bitch Scarlet Witch's fault. Viz says at Avengers HQ that she's the only one that can destroy the stone, and the only way she was gonna do it was if she could keep her boytoy.
Infinity War is a really woke tale about how women in positions of power cost the universe everything, or at least half of everything.

Not sure why you have formed such a negative opinion, but your complaints were addressed in the movie. The Avengers went to Waka da to save Vision because without Thor around and with Iron Man missing and Hulk having issues he is the most powerful Avenger left. Dr. Strange gives up the Time stone- if he actually did- because that's what he did in the one future that the Avenger's defeated Thanos in.
There are several reasons to see it. The whole Wakanda scene in the back half of the movie. It is the modern equivalent of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields from Lord of the Rings. The Wakanda Forever charge is as moving as the charge of the Rohirrim. And Thor's arrival with Stormbreaker is as powerful as any moment in years.
You get a great deal of character development as well. Robert Downey, Jr. is equal parts charming, brilliant, sensitive, and assholish. Cumberland is superb as Dr. Strange. You will like Spider But Josh Brolin steals the show as Thanos in a portrayal of a villain that has not been of this quality since Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight.
It is a perfect movie? No. But it did an excellent job of weaving together all the previous movies and characters. That is an accomplishment in itself. We're there things that could have been done differently. Of course, but once you get by the choppy "set-up" scenes at the start it is mesmerizing.

That was the conclusion my boy came to, it's the only thing that makes sense

I'm glad you liked it
My son liked it, I just thought it was really weak compared to past Marvel films and the hype

It had by far the best villain of any Marvel movie.

You seem to be a big fan. I was planning to go see this movie, but I haven't seen a superhero movie from the last 15 years or more. Would I need to watch any (or all) of the Marvel movies to know what's going on?
