I posed a questing over there and all hell broke loose.

Simply, with as many graphics that are made about muschamp and trob getting dbs into the league you wouldn't think we'd still be having to get this many juco and grad xfer guys to bail us out. And that as of right now, should Harvey start over mukuamu, Idk that there's one projected starter at db that didn't come from juco or xfer.

Granted I left no room for the injury argument but still.

The graphics game is strong ... it'll pay off.

The best corners will start. That's T-Rob's baby. I have no worries there. Far more concerned about how our DLine will produce this year ... and OLine.

ETA: Upvoted because it's a legit question, but not a major concern. Part of the DB problem we are experiencing this year is because of bailouts, injuries and transfers. I think it was handled this year with these two DB transfers and will be handled over the next two classes in a big big way. Not worried about our secondary anymore in the least.

Rooster I even started the post over there by saying I'm not blaming anyone or even saying is a negative thing and I got more down votes than an IBG weekends baseball thread.

Like you said, I just found it interesting. Our graphics on that front will have a lot of udfa's for the next couple years but hey, Chris Steele liked it so who tf am i?

Which means you got none?

What graphics do you speak of as well? Link?

It’s a shame we’re so few on this board. For I, your benevolent leader, allow free speech and thought to reign.

LOL

I'm up to triple digit down votes.

Apparently, the general consensus on 247 is

Jaylin Dickerson is going to come back from not playing football for a year and having 0 college ball experience to start.

Jam Williams is going to come back from not playing all off season, switch positions to one he's never played before and start despite getting benched for several games at nickel last year.

Israel Mukuamu or Jaycee Horn are going to start over Nick Harvey with out having any college experience vs his 30+ games played in an SEC defensive backfield.

These are the thought processes of the 247 sunshine pumpers. Again, we could go out and never recruit another DB again and only have JUCO and xfer guys, as long as we win I could give a shite.

Which thread are you referring to over there?

Edit: NM...I found it. Just looked for the yuge red number thread I've come to the conclusion that the star system on that board is determined on the amount of sunshine you pump. Being a realist causes sand to get shoved into vag's.

the logic flew out the window. if its not trying to justify why someone who's never played a college game at all or at the position they are now being asked to play, it's...

Sorry we don't want a lot of Freshman and Sophomores all over the field.

HELLO? where have you been the last 2 years. We've already had freshman and sophomores all over the field.

I think some of the young guys have potential and the transfers this year are a stopgap to cover for some injuries (primarily Dickerson and Williams to a lesser extent because of the position change) and freshmen like Mukamu.

Even though this staff didn't recruit him Rashad Fenton is going to get drafted next year too and they turned walk-ons Steven Montac and Joseph Charlton into solid contributors.

Also if Harvey, Nixon and Ibe all start in the secondary and lock it down who cares if they are transfers? Particularly Nixon since he wasn't here for just one season

eta- I'm not trying to sunshine pump but I'm not too concerned about the secondary with Boom and TRob coaching them.

I absolutely agree and never questioned that.

Agree with this, never claimed why we have the need for jucos and xfers, just that they are more likely to start.

I think Fenton is extremely talented and hope that he does get drafted. A also think there were guys in this years class who were similar that didn't.

Steven Montac

Was a juco trasfer

Joseph Charlton

Is a punter, think you're referring to Javon Charleston and I agree on that front well

I don't care at all. I wasn't posting any of this to really make an arguement, just a realization. No axe to grind, just an observation. And I don't think you're pumping at all, I don't have a huge concern over the DBs at all. I actually think they'll be ridiculous in 2019.

It was simply this: if you look at our staff, Champ and TRob are the pinnacle of both recruiting and development from a perception standpoint. They are also the ones who are leaning more on transfers than commitment guys. That fact, that single fact, is something that you wouldn't have thought would be the case at the outset.
