I think it definitely can matter. Kirby getting 93k into Sanford for his first G-Day (Spring) game, was a huge deal and had a very positive impact on recruiting. It doesn't always matter, but a lot of players like seeing a fan base unite behind their team.

I legitimately think our fans helped out UGA a ton last year. Especially in the ND game.
