Looks like he was committed to LSU in June 2017 then decommitted in September 2017. He is officially visiting A&M this weekend and there is some talk that he could shut it down this weekend.

Totally forgot about this kid, goes to show how many commits and decommits happen it's almost impossible to keep up with them these days.

I don't think we've recruited him since he decommitted, turned all our attention to Lee and Palmer in state and Curry from TX. We really dont need more than 2 WRs this class so there's no reason to really go after him. We haven't heard a peep about this kid since Sept last year, but we are recruiting several Grayson players still outside of him.

When he committed last year, he was considered a really raw prospect with very little playing time. I assume he didn't improve much his junior year to be considered a 86 3-star on 247?

ESPN - 4 Star, 244th
Rivals - 4 Star, 187th

Since Dec 2017 (after JR year) he's picked up offers from A&M, UT, USCe, Michigan. t.u., Arkansas, Minny, NU, Mizzou, & Penn St.

I wouldn't assume that.

You realize Grayson has like 8-9 Power 5 type seniors on their team this year? There will be a lot of "Extra" offers out to guys who otherwise wouldn't have gotten them because of very highly sought after teammates, trying to get whatever package deals possible.

Looks like he had 27 catches for 600 yards last season, basically occaisonaly chucked it down the field to him basically. Still wasn't an overwhelming favorite target in the passing game (<20% of total completions on the season went him). The 86 3-star rating makes sense for now. Kid is a lot more raw potential at the moment than a finished product. Similar to how when he committed to us mid last year.

When I watched his film this is not what I saw at all. Not sure if you have ever seen any of it. A lot of the highlights were on slants/corner routes in traffic. The biggest question mark is whether he will be able to get separation at the college level.

Looking up opening results, that seems to be the big question, he timed over 4.7 in the 40 and only a 30" vertical, so while he had good size at 6'5.5 193, is on the lesser athletic side.

We just dont really need any more of those types of receivers too, we seem to be loaded with tall big kids and they usually are very limited in what they can do (red zone target, limited route trees). So rare to find a tall guy who can effectively run a full route tree.

We have Sullivan, Davis and Anderson all at 6'4-6'6, and they all got passed up by Justin Jefferson because he can run the full route tree and get out of breaks faster (6'2 185).

This is true. We have a lot of guys who are 6 1- 6 2 but nobody this big which is probably why we want him

He may be a future pass catching TE. From the highlights I watched he was already an inside WR.

He’s raw, but a great athlete. He was all-state in basketball. With his size, if he can learn to be a football player, he’ll be hell to deal with. There are a lot of questions but you can’t reach size.

Yes. Agreed. We heard the same thing about a HS basketball player named Mike Evans.
