Seriously though, this is an insightful thread. We've had John McDonnell Field in its current state for 12 years. It still outclasses every other outdoor college track stadium other than Oregon's new digs.
I guess I never thought much about how nice of a facility it is. It makes sense that we have the best T&F facilities in the country given our history in the sport.

A little bit of investment in sports like track & field can lead to big rewards. SEC schools are suddenly becoming quite a bit more competitive across the board in athletics because the flow of cash means that secondary, and even tertiary, sports are starting to get a bit of the green.
I will grant you, we aren't at the level of Stanford with their "we play in every sport out there, including a few which don't actually exist". But we are starting to get close.
