I hate off days.

I wonder why they scheduled a double header for tomorrow when both teams are off today, AND Atlanta is only travelling from NYC. Washington was home this weekend (i think), so the only reason I can see for having a DH is that both teams requested to keep the off day.

While I agree for the most part, any little off day will help with the schedule they have to play to end the season out.

Looking at the last month of the season we play the Phillies 7 times in our last 10 games. That final stretch is going to determine who goes to the playoffs. Don’t thing 2nd place gets the WC spot.

Remaining schedule:
Washington-7
NY-3
Philly-7
Miami-8
Colorado-4
Pittsburgh-6
St. Louis-3
San Fran-3
Arizona-4
Boston-4
Milwaukee-3
TB-2
Chicago-1

No, I know that they need the off day, I've just never seen the league reschedule a makeup into a double header when there was a mutual off day readily available. That's why I posed the question.

The reason I said that I hate off days is because I've been watching them damn near everyday so it feels like a part of me is missing when there is no game

Phillies blew a 2 run lead in the ninth last night. Hopefully Arizona can slow them down and we hit Washington right in the mouth for 3/4 or 4/4. 1 GB out the division and 0.5 game lead in the WC. Today’s DH is gonna be big.

Yeah phils have the d'backs, padres, and Red Sox over the next 7 games. Hoping they drop a few and we beat up on the Nationals.

They have the Red Sox the same time we play 4 against Miami. Prime scheduling right there.

Bowman says if Fried had to be used in a relief role in the past few days then Touki would have been called up to start the first game today. Touki is close

I'm going to the Braves vs Phillies game in the last series of the reg season anybody else going to be there?

The Braves temporarily again called up Allard for the DH... Oh and here's the 1st doubleheader lineup..

Fried was pitching a shutout but they took him out in the 3rd because of the intense heat causing his blister problem. Kolby Allard is warming up, and the Braves wasted a pinch hit on a pitcher they weren't going to use, Gasman.

I'm sure the 104 mph ball off the bat, to the ribs, he took to finish that 2nd inning had a little something to do with it too

I was just kidding cause the announcers were making a big deal about that earlier, but hope Fried's hip is ok for real. The pinch hitter Gausman was not a bad at bat after all. Nice catch by Duvall that Ender missed btw wow... too bad it didn't count.

Lead lasted until the bottom of the 4th, Allard gave up a homer to what's his name to tie it up... and one to Zimmerman for the go ahead. 4 to 1 gnats.
