Brian Smith and the wrestling team never get the recognition they are due. Consistently great. Nothing but good news coming out of that team.

Win a national championship and that will change.

Agree.....at what point will we go to another conference? Can any team in the MAC compete with us?

Wow some red asses in here, they deserve credit beyond belief. To be as good as they are without being in a Major Conference is remarkable. A consistent top 5 program in a minor conference is unheard of. They cannot join the Big 10, Big 12 will not let them in, nor will the PAC 12 or ACC. Mizzou Wrestling and Coach Smith have been a juggernaut not just in the MAC but against tough competition. To just say win a Natty is kind of bullshite. I mean there is no one beating Penn State nor Ohio State right now. Even the most winning programs like Oklahoma St and Iowa are not up to those two. And hell Mizzou has been beating teh Hawkeyes and Cowboys the last few years. I remember Mizzou Wrestling before Smith and it was dreadful what he has done with Tiger Style is incredible.

Uh you agreed to the prior post that said winning a Natty would be impressive, so my reading comprehension was just fine.

Yes I agreed with that and think it's true; the next logical step for out wrestling program is a natty and nothing else and that has nothing to do with being a red arse.....we've pretty much accomplished everything else.

not sure we can ever accomplish that. that is why Sanderson left Iowa St for Penn St. there is a built in advantage to upper Midwest wrestling. That being said it is a possibility. Missouri High School wrestlers are constantly in the Top 10 at Fargo and the state's high school programs have definitely improved over the last 20 years.
