He has honestly not lived up to the hype at home or away outside of one or two games. Don't know if it's because he is not being as assertive as a shooter because he is just waiting for Sexton to do his thing or if he just goes into a multi-game slump but he is capable of much more than he has shown this year. Hopefully he puts it together down the stretch.

I've been surprised by how poor he is at dribbling. It looks like it takes a lot of effort for him and he is out of control driving to the basket. If he isn't catching and shooting he really doesn't have a plan

Not directed at anyone in particular, but it’s important to remember that these guys are still amateurs and that sometimes personal issues affect on the court performance. From what I’ve heard JP needs more of our support these days and less of our criticism. I’ll leave it at that. RTR

That's because people are absolutely nuts when it comes to expectations on these guys. Sexton is being talked about as the #1 PG taken in the draft and we have people bashing him every game too.

I thought Petty would be very close to as good as Sexton before the season started. But, that's only because I thought he'd be a little more consistent than he has been and Sexton might struggle a little more often than he has.

Petty is going to be fine. He helps the team even when he isn't making shots by making the other team respect the 3 pt line. He's also a very good passer. He was excellent at getting to the rim in high school (at least on his highlight videos) and I expect him to continue to improve in that area at Bama.

He hustles and seems like he cares. I expect him to be a star before he's done.

As far as his road woes, it's all in his head. Shooting is like golf.
