Yeah at this point he's going to do nothing but risk further injury, his stock is still top 5 pick and that wouldnt change playing in a couple college games now.

I don't think he has anything at all to gain by playing at this point but an awful lot to lose not just in terms of injury but also in terms of looking rusty because he's been out so long and/or hasn't had time to gel with the rest of the team. There's just not much to gain.
That said, if he really does want to just play then you have to respect that and hope he does ok/goes injury free and doesn't jeopardize his draft status.
