In other news-- what the heck happened to the fighting kingsberries - Texas Tech finished 73rd.

on average we beat Vandy, Mizzou, and KY only in the SEC


However, for perspective... OM and MS had 4 and 6 more players recruited.

TN and USCe had 5 more recruits...

We are not in terrible shape considering the late start, crap CBB left. I think we will surprise some folks in recruiting in the future.

The real glimmers of hope here occur if you look at the recruiting timelines on some of these kids we signed late. I'd really like to see our rankings if you're only looking at the scraps or uncommited/late flips of this class. I suspect we're top 10 for that small category.

Take Gerald:

Jimbo Fisher goes in home...he visits A&M just before us and Visits FL AFTER us. Oregon offers him...basically has offers from all the big schools.

And we got him.

The kid is from SC, so yeah...Caldwell and Chief probably were on him all along...but it still bodes very well for how we fare going up against schools that we need to be recruiting against.

No way fatass or anyone on the former staff works that hard to get a kid like this.

Myles Mason...another huge pickup...

Visits to TN, Bama and MSU...committed to MSU and made a video all about "Hail State". Seems like a pretty hard commit?

This is good stuff. I can't wait to see 2019 unfold.

He should be someone who can step in right away and make an impact. It will be a totally different mindset on both sides of the ball next season.
