Coaches, in the south anyway, have a set of unwritten rules that they somewhat follow, for example they won't outbid an in state school for a recruit and things like that. Ole Miss took everything to far. I can post all about it because no one believes me, but it happens
This would be under the assumption that every kid is on the take.
