You and I are of the same mind. There is nothing indicating that Saban is still coaching only to break Bryant's national championship record. He has said in multiple interviews that he coaches mainly because he loves affecting the lives of young men. He definitely enjoys winning, he definitely enjoys the accolades, but what thrills him the most is changing the lives of his players for the better. He absolutely adores seeing them graduate and succeed in life.

He also recently said that he has been on a team since he was child, and is terrified of the day he isn't on one.
