I'm probably biased because I was on the Marlon Humphrey hype train during his recruitment, but I think so yeah. Humphrey was way better than most, if not all, first year starters at CB under Saban in 2015 and in 16 he wasn't shutdown but he was really good. He was brought along slowly this year by the Ravens, but ended up having a really solid rookie season in terms of how he performed. He even had a game against the Steelers where, while Brown fed, he got basically nothing when Marlon was covering him. Had he come back for 2017 I'm sure he would've been the undisputed best shutdown CB in college football. Dude has every single tool and I think he's often under appreciated, though it felt like he came and went very quickly.
