You could argue that anything that happens that affects the game...affects the game. Say he tripped the ref...and then the ref missed a call like the player stepping out of bounds. If that play gets called out at the 16 it wouldn't have been over turned. Again it just seems crazy that if a foul, any foul occurs during the play it shouldn't be a dead ball foul.
