I have to agree with everything bigpapamac has said. As much as I would like to think otherwise, this win by the Dems was pretty much just about Moore being a nutjob. It's very likely Jones loses in the next election.

Yea people can make this election out to be whatever they want and try to fit it into any narrative they'd like (not saying anybody in this thread is), but this was nothing more than a rejection of Moore. He's always been a controversial and unpopular figure even before everybody found out he was a pedophile. In 2012 he only won 51.8 percent of the general election vote for Chief Justice. Mitt Romney won 60.55 percent of the vote in Alabama that day.

It's very likely Jones loses next time. However, if Jones throws a few votes the Republican's way, brings some funding to certain areas of Alabama, and the Republicans nominate a guy like Strange, I can see Jones winning again, but that would be another close race.
