I wish this would happen, but in Alabama all I meant by "semi-sane" is really anybody not named Roy Moore. A perfectly crazy far-right Republican without all the baggage will still beat Doug Jones any day of the week.

I have to agree with everything bigpapamac has said. As much as I would like to think otherwise, this win by the Dems was pretty much just about Moore being a nutjob. It's very likely Jones loses in the next election.
