There’s been some smoke regarding the hiring of coach Henry to get K.J. do you have any info on this?

Thanks!

Yep ... just what I posted in the recruiting thread.

I've found-out since that the taterheads are threatening to file a grievance with the NCAA if it happens over some little-known NCAA rule where if a parent works a camp within a certain amount of time then the child cannot be recruited or signed.

Who knows how it is going to play out.

They are such a butthurt bunch of little bitches about the possibility that it's extremely enjoyable just to watch them squirm over the possibility.

Here's the rule..

So if that's really the case, and his dad worked a camp here, why are we even recruiting him? Don't we have folks in compliance that would know about this?

That's why I think it's much to do about nothing... -

And what's wildly ironic about this is....

They need to read this. I think we're ok...

quote:

13.12.2.2.5.1 Exception -- Coach of Four-Year, NCAA Member Institution. An institution or staff member may employ a coach of another four-year, NCAA member institution at the institution's camp or clinic regardless of whether the coach is an individual associated with a recruited prospective student-athlete.

The one part of this that I don't know how it will work out is: KJ Henry is an EE, signing one week from today. The rule allowing us to have an additional coach doesn't go into effect until January.

But you could tender an offer to a coach with a start date in January. Happens all the time in business...

We currently have one slot open ... Kurt Roper's spot which we may fill with anyone. Then we fill the OC slot after the bowl games on 10 January.
