Putting on a lot of weight when you are younger is fine. When I was a kid I could not put on weight to save my life. I had the metabolism of a shrew evidently and barely, just barely, made it into the military for height and weight requirements (I was actually too tall by about 6 inches but the folks at the MEPS told me to slouch and measured me again to sneak me in).

Then, when I turned 24, my body decided... welp I can take it easy now and I gained forty pounds in a year. Over the next two or so years I gained a total of about a hundred pounds, more or less what I weigh right now 20 years later. Its not a bad weight for my height.

That is one thing, and from what I understand it isn't uncommon, especially for young tall people, its another to put on that much weight, that quickly, when you are middle aged. Bielema was in his 40s when he put on a hundred pounds or more of weight.

You have to wonder if all that extra weight sapped his energy.

I can relate and I'm short. I was always short and stocky. I loved smacking ppl in football getting low and using my speed. However I could never gain any weight.

Joined the military (06) and ran 18 min 3 miles. I fell off a helicopter in a training accident (07) had surgeries and continued to push. Run times started getting slower around (09) to 21-22 mins.

Went recruiting and being stuck in a gov vehicle and working 100 hrs a week killed me. Energy drinks and constant fast food packed on weight. Run times went up to 25 mins. At the end of recruiting I avgd 30 lb gain over 3 years. While doing this still ran with kids and passed all PFT's.

Finished recruiting and PCS'd. PFT was coming up. Started shredding weight and ran my PFT. I got 26:50 mins and barely passed (14). I was in so much pain and was over the years. Went in and was told they didn't know how I was able to run with X-Rays. This was the end of my career.

Est 135 lbs in 06, I have been up to 195 the last year. It sucks arse. I don't look fat per say just a stocky short dude. Always get asked if I was a wrestler.

I posted on here for help with my homework for being sick. I was probably 185 2 weeks ago. Had first side of wisdom teeth removed last week and I weighed myself yesterday and I'm down to 168.

Moral of the story, stay away from soda and mcdoubles. Lol oh yeah don't age either.

I feel you sulli
