No matter how you attempt to frame it, they are not the same. UGA and Auburn played their way to the SECCG, each representing their respective divisions

And Bama played their way to the NC game also. They were selected. SEC rules dictated LSU play a final game, and luckily you did, because at least you have something to show for the season. Also, are you suggesting Bama wasn't the second best team? They won 21-0 against a team most LSU fans think was one of their best ever!!! Who else should have played? Do you wish for a lower skilled/quality opponent just so you can call yourself a champion without actually being one? Sometimes the two best teams reside in the same conference.

No they did not. They had their chance at home to prove they were the best and they lost 9-6. Instead they successfully lobbied for another chance while other teams played through that weekend. They sat at home and took a bye while others worked for a chance to play in that game.

If you want to make an honest argument, I would say Bama was the best team, period. That LSU actually fluked their way to a win. That Nick Saban choked that game away. That does not change the fact that when they had a chance Bama lost.

A team that they had not already played (and beaten).

Absolutely agree.

It is good to see that you at least abandoned the UGA-Auburn argument.
