bullshite. We have no idea what hire Jeff Long could or would have made. He got fired because a bunch of butthurt Eastern Arkansas rice farmers and Central Arkansas donors got pissed off that he'd dare pull games from Little Rock and join the freaking 21st Century of athletic programs. Now we rashly fired him, and we're left holding our dicks trying to hire both an AD and a head FB coach.

Newsflash: a lot of guys (not named Gus) would have loved to work for Jeff Long. He's built facilities like crazy for every program we have and completely enabled our coaches to do their jobs. It didn't work out with some of them, but we would have been much better positioned to hire a new coach (not named Gus) with some continuity at the AD position.

But.. the GOBN was convinced they could get rid of Long and land Gus. And they got played. Now we look like the simpleton, backwards organization we are.

I see this as Jeff Long's doing because he didn't keep the right people in the loop what was going on with his football coach. He was doing weird accounting things and when the losing got so prolific they forced him out. Leaving people in the dark to our financial issues.

Congratulations for exposing yourself as the dumbest, poorest, sore loser in all of Arkansas.
