It seems the Arkansas coaching job is Gus' to turn down. One thing the UA needs to keep in mind, Gus wants to win a National Championship and he'll expect all the resources necessary. There may be more folks in Arkansas watching the SEC Championship game than Alabama.

Julie Cromer Peoples will be paid $5,000 per calendar month on top of her combined annual income from all university sources of more than $222,000 while serving as interim athletic director of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Through a Freedom of Information Act request, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette obtained a copy of a letter, dated Nov. 27, from university Chancellor Joe Steinmetz to Cromer Peoples detailing the extra payment.
Steinmetz also assured Cromer Peoples in the letter that if she remained an employee in good standing at all times, she would be guaranteed a position at the UA "either in the Athletics Department or another department, at your current salary of $222,160 until June 30, 2019. The incoming Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics will have the discretion to make all decisions regarding your appointment at all subsequent times."

The next 24-72 hrs should be entertaining.

The sad thing is that this whole mess has made me forget about the coaching search. The athletic director is much more important. We need someone to push us to the next level. We need to continue raising money and improving facilities.

Hiring someone like Tubs will result in us falling apart. He will work with the governor and we will probably leave the SEC to reform the old AIC. We will be playing henderson in WMS. Because.... ALL ARKANSAS or some state pride bull crap.
