It’s not. Tennessee’s issues are not primarily because of the Haslams. The only thing that will change is who gets blamed.

Exactly. We've been dealing with them for years but a perfect storm just happened: Bill is disliked and term-limited as governor (before that he was Mayor of Haslamabad, I mean Knoxville), Jimmy is dealing with the Feds, Big Jim has gotten to damned old to fight all that much AND Sen. Bob Corker (who lived with the Haslams, was a frat bro. and so on) and besties with Bill is retiring from the Senate while being on the outs with the POTUS. Pilot was just sold to Warren Buffett opening a large opportunity in the state as well.

Nothing 'easy' about getting them to loosen their grip. Jimmy just got busted calling Blackburn (a gubernatorial candidate) and trying to make sure she wouldn't speak out -- THIS after Gov. Haslam denied they were involved in the hiring process.

Ergen, Thunder Thorton, Anderson, and others had more money but the Haslams have had all the power UNTIL now.
