I can attempt to explain it as clearly as possible

A&M went to the SEC for viewers and recruits.
Every state the SEC is in they usually dominate the TV's or it is a 50/50 spilt like in South Carolina or Florida

Texas hasn't been that for the SEC.
The SEC thinks that a good A&M team will allow them to control the Texas TV Markets.


We will see. Like I said the average Texan is average to negative about A&M.
The share of the Texas market for A&M peaked in 2013. Ever since Manziel left A&M the Aggy and more so the SEC viewership has declined in the state.



This all helps A&M because if the SEC could dominate the Texas TVs without a great A&M team they wouldn't care one lick who was the coach in College Station.
