Yea that was the premise of my post. The committee was formed to protect everybody's share (ex. get as many conferences in as possible) of that money if at all possible, not to get the four best teams.
If it was simply about getting the best teams you could've kept the old formula and taken 4 teams instead of 2.

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but y'all do realize that tOSUs athletic director, Gene Smith, is on the selection committee.
