Since most of these teams are going to sort themselves out anyway, what’s wrong with building the hype with these SEC and ACC schools being ranked highly and maybe getting a few more casual fans involved? There isn’t such a huge difference in these teams where it’s just blatant where they’re ranked anyway. We’re all arguing about one or two places in the rankings. Irrelevant.
The more eyeballs the better.

It just sort of undermines the reliability and trust of the ranking system in my mind when it appears that they are trying to hype up games. A lot of subjectivity to the whims of the committee which i don't personally think creates a solid foundation for the system.
